How we list companies
Plain answers about where listings come from, what they mean, and what they don't.
Where the information comes from
Listings are compiled from public business information and company websites: business name, phone, website, address and public business category. Services shown are based on that category and are not verified until a company confirms them.
Listings are not endorsements or ratings
We don't rate, rank or review companies, and we don't show star ratings or reviews from other websites. Lists are alphabetical. Including a company is not a recommendation.
No paid placement
No company pays to appear or to be placed higher. If that ever changes, paid placements will be clearly labeled "Sponsored."
Who runs this directory
The directory is run by Carolina Water Filtration, a residential water treatment company in the Charlotte area. Because we are also a provider, we keep the directory neutral: same format, same alphabetical order, no special placement for ourselves.
Claim, correct or remove a listing
Every listing has "Claim this listing" and "Report an error" links. Companies can also request a new listing. Removal requests are honored after we confirm the request comes from the business.
We review every submission by hand.
What gets indexed by search engines
Listing pages with a website or address, and area pages with at least five listings, are included in our sitemap. Thinner pages stay available to visitors but are marked so search engines skip them.
